IN FOND MEMORY OF IRMA CONRAD

The sudden death of my best friend, confidant and contributing editor to 'Crown Jewels' has been a shock to all of us.

Thursday morning we had our usual daily telephone conversation (1/2 hour to 2 hours) talking over our plans, joking and laughing. Thursday evening she was struck with a sudden illness and husband Bill took her to the hospital. Complications arose, and she passed away Saturday afternoon.

Irma and I shared many interests: our hobby, our life style, our thoughts, the same grandchild, even the same middle name. She started collecting insulators just a few months before we did and gradually turned into a beehive specialist.

I know many of you have written to her and have traded insulators with her. Also many of you have met her personally at our first National Insulator Meet in New Castle, Indiana.

Irma's passing has left a large void in our insulator world.
